Since our founding in 1854, Edward J. Darby & Son, Inc. has been one of America’s leading suppliers of wire mesh and wire cloth. From maintaining a massive inventory of both standard and unique wire mesh specifications, to offering the capabilities to custom manufacture mesh and fabricate wire mesh parts, Darby continues to be well-positioned to serve the industrial user.
Our industrial users – from Fortune 500 Companies to small job shops – continue to trust us for their industry-specific needs and rely on us for our experience and expertise. Known as the “Darby Advantage,” here are a handful of unique product offerings we have developed to help improve the business operations of our industrial user.
Dedicated Customer Service
Whereas some companies talk about customer service, we have walked the walk for as long as anyone in the wire mesh industry. In fact, we have numerous clients who have been loyal customers for almost 100 years. As an example, a chemical company originally contacted us in the 1940s for Copper Wire Mesh and has been purchasing it from us on a continuous basis ever since. There’s a reason that these large industrial users depend on Darby: we are guided by our legacy and committed to serving our customers. It is a tradition we have been proud to carry on for over 160 years.
Darby boasts one of the largest and most varied inventories of wire mesh in the United States. Specializing in Stainless Steel, Plain Steel, Copper, Brass, Bronze, Galvanized and Aluminum wire mesh, our inventory is strategically selected to align with the requirements of the changing industrial marketplace. We recognize the importance of maintaining a large inventory as it provides our industrial customers with the mesh they need it, when they need it. Standard market grade meshes, as well as more unique and hard-to-find specifications are our area of expertise.
Preferred, Competitive Pricing
Darby understands the competitive nature of our industrial sector and knows that successful businesses cannot work in a vacuum. We are constantly working on improving our cost structure so that we can pass these savings onto you.
Knowledge of Product & Industry
Companies do not thrive for over 160 years without being passionate and trusted within their industry. Edward J. Darby & Son, Inc. is no different: we are committed to our customers and to our industry. Our commitment to meeting our customers’ diverse needs means we must constantly learn about mesh applications, industrial and otherwise. We listen to our customers and anticipate their requirements. We believe in the power of strong alliances with key players throughout the global wire mesh industry. Darby recognizes the complexities of our niche industry, and we encourage industrial users to benefit from Darby’s product and industry knowledge.
In order to better serve a growing industrial customer base, Darby Wire Mesh offers various fabrication services targeted to meeting the requirements of the industrial wire mesh user. For our large industrial users, we routinely cut to size, shear to exact specifications and produce custom discs.
Edward J. Darby & Son, Inc. recognizes that there are times when industrial users “need material yesterday.” Whether you are facing a plant shutdown, against a time crunch, or on the verge of missing a deadline with your most important customer, we are here to help. We offer numerous expediting services, to include Same Day Shipments, Rush Delivery, Pick Ups, and Expedited Fabrication. Darby also works closely with UPS, various motor freight carriers and courier services to make sure our customer receives material when it is needed.
Blanket Orders and Consignment Programs
For certain qualified customers, Darby offers the convenience and cost-savings of extending Blanket Orders to approved industrial wire mesh users. Most blanket order span over 6 to 12 months and have set delivery schedules. Darby will reserve your material and ship material out on your schedule. Please talk to a sales person for more information.
Darby also offers Consignment Programs to certain, pre-qualified customers. The benefits of entering into a consignment agreement with Darby are cost savings (both immediately and later on), in addition to improved turnover on the product.
